Local Anglers Dominate 2025 Classic Bass Champions Tour

Legends angler Bennett Gapinski, Marine, Motorcycle and Powersports student of Foley, MN is making waves in the 2025 Classic Bass Champions Tour, using his summer off-season to sharpen his bass fishing skills against top competition.
Gapinski secured a top 10 finish at the tour's opening event on June 3 at Lake Vermilion, landing an impressive 82 fish with a total weight of 168 pounds, 15 ounces. The strong performance demonstrates his commitment to competitive fishing.
The second tour stop at the Champions Tour, Mississippi River Pool 8 in LaCrosse showcased the depth of local fishing talent, with alumni Walker Krampitz and Ryan Kieke both delivering standout performances.
Krampitz dominated the competition, claiming his third consecutive title in as many years. His winning haul included 37 fish totaling 60 pounds, 1 ounce, cementing his reputation as one of the tour's most consistent performers.
Kieke rounded out the local success with a top 10 finish, bringing in 16 fish weighing 35 pounds, 13 ounces.
The Champions Tour continues its Minnesota swing with several upcoming events scheduled throughout the summer. A pro-am tournament is set for July 15 on Lake Minnetonka, followed by competition on Alexandria's Chain of Lakes on August 5. The tour will conclude its current schedule with an event on Green Lake on August 26.
The strong showing by local anglers highlights the competitive fishing talent emerging from the region and suggests promising results for the remainder of the tournament season.
