The ATCC fishing team is gearing up for an exciting spring season with two out-of-state tournaments in the prestigious Bassmaster College Series, where they'll compete against anglers from over 200 colleges nationwide.
Six student-athletes will make the trip to Lake Okeechobee in Okeechobee, Florida, on January 28-29, 2026, for the season opener. Bennett Gapinski, Trey Visser, Jack Myers, Mason Qualey, Ryan Wiener, and Max Meyer will test their skills on one of the country's premier bass fishing destinations.
The team returns to action April 8-9, 2026, at Santee Lake in Summerton, South Carolina. Gapinski, Visser, Myers, Qualey, and Wiener will be joined by Zach Oman for this second tournament.
The Bassmaster College Series represents the pinnacle of collegiate bass fishing competition, featuring two divisions—Legends and Lunkers—that draw teams from across the nation. Anglers compete to catch and weigh their best five bass, with successful teams earning points toward national championship berths and a potential path to the professional ranks through the College Classic Bracket. Top performers can win major prizes including a Toyota Tundra, Nitro boat, and entry into professional tournaments.
Both tournaments offer ATCC's anglers valuable experience competing at the highest level of collegiate fishing while representing their school on a national stage.
