Men's Golf Claims Victory at Pebble Lake Invitational
The Alexandria Technical & Community College men's golf teams delivered an impressive performance at the two-day invitational at Pebble Lake Golf Course, with the Red team capturing first place in a competitive field.
Red Team Dominates for Tournament Victory
The Alex Tech Red team showcased consistent excellence throughout the tournament, posting rounds of 308 and 305 for a winning total of 613 strokes. Their six-shot margin of victory demonstrated the team's depth and ability to perform under pressure across both days of competition.
Leading the charge was Noah Falteysek, who turned in a stellar performance with rounds of 76-73 to finish second overall individually. Falteysek's four-stroke improvement from day one to day two proved crucial in securing both his runner-up finish and the team's championship.
Supporting Falteysek's strong showing, Winston Carlson contributed steady rounds of 77-76, while Joe Sonagila added 77-78 to help solidify the Red team's commanding position throughout the event.
Black Team Shows Early Promise
The Alex Tech Black team entered day two in prime position after firing an impressive opening round of 303, led by Tyler Lehmann's exceptional 1-over-par 73. However, challenging conditions and tough course setup on the final day resulted in a 339 second round, dropping the Black team to fourth place overall with a 642 total.
Despite the disappointing finish, the Black team's first-round performance demonstrated the program's overall depth, with multiple golfers capable of competing at a high level.
Looking Ahead
The tournament victory marks a strong start to the season for the Red team, while both squads gained valuable competitive experience against quality opponents including MN State - Fergus Falls, Valley City State University, Mayville State University, and Turtle Mountain Community College.
