Men’s Golf Battles Weather at Iowa Central Invite
The Alexandria men’s golf team opened its spring season with a gritty performance at the Iowa Central Invite on April 10 at Fort Dodge Country Club.
Competing against a strong field, the Legends showed resilience after a slow start on day one, carding a team score of 310. Despite challenging conditions—including cold temperatures, steady winds, and scattered showers—the team responded with improvement on day two, shaving three strokes off their total with a 307 to close the tournament.
Several Legends delivered steady performances throughout the event. Logan Henriksen bounced back with a strong second round, improving from a 78 on day one to a 75 on day two. Joe Sonoglia also posted one of the team's best improvements, matching Henriksen with rounds of 79 and 75. Tyler Lehmann was consistent across both days, finishing with identical rounds of 77.
Noah Falteysek opened the tournament with a 76 before finishing with an 80 on day two, while Jack Amundson recorded rounds of 81 and 80 to round out the lineup.
The tournament marked the team's first competition of the spring season, and the Legends' ability to battle through adverse weather conditions and improve collectively on day two provided a strong foundation moving forward.
