Women's Golf: Legends Finish Strong Second at Spartan Classic
The Legends Women's Golf Team opened their fall season in impressive fashion, securing a second-place finish at the Spartan Classic hosted by Minnesota State Fergus Falls
Team Performance
The Legends posted a team score of 808 over the two rounds, falling just short of first place but demonstrating the depth and talent that should serve them well throughout the season. The team showed excellent consistency across their lineup, with all four competing players contributing to a solid team effort.
The two-day tournament at Pebble Lake Golf Club featured strong competition from multiple schools, with the host Spartans taking the team title.
Individual Standouts
Alexis Usher led the way for the Legends, finishing in fourth place with rounds of 90 and 88 for a tournament total of 178. Her strong second-round performance highlighted her ability to make adjustments and improve as the tournament progressed.
Ayla Larson complemented Usher's performance perfectly, claiming fifth place with scores of 94 and 91 (185 total). Like her teammate, Larson showed improvement from day one to day two, dropping three strokes in her second round.
The Legends placed both Usher and Larson in the top five individually, a testament to the program's competitive strength at the top of their lineup.
Samma Haider finished 12th overall with rounds of 118 and 101 for a 219 total, while Aspen Schoenrock rounded out the scoring in 13th place with a 226 total (114/112).
