Usher Leads Legends to Strong Showing at Waseca Tournament
The Legends women's golf team competed Tuesday 9/23 at Waseca Lakeside Golf Club, facing a challenging course and a competitive field that included top-ranked University of Northwestern and second-place Crown College.
Legends women's golf was on the road to Waseca Lakeside golf course for a tournament the week of 9/23. The ladies battled a golf course that showed it's teeth and proved tough to score on, as well as a deep field that featured the top 2 teams in the UMAC conference, in the University of Northwestern and Crown College. Northwestern was able to pull out the team win, and Crown College senior Kendall Clark won the individual title (+13). Alexis Usher was in the hunt for the individual title for the Legends, until a couple of late missteps pushed her down, but she rallied to a stellar 8th place finish. Ayla Larson was just behind with a 12th place finish, and Aspen Schoenrock rounded out the scoring with a top-20 finish for the Legends.
This was the final tune-up before the team heads west for the University of Mary's Marauder Invitational, hosted at the Hawk Tree Golf Club in Bismarck, ND.
