Legends Fall Short in Region 13B Tournament, Look Ahead to 2026
The Alexandria Legends volleyball team wrapped up their season with a tough loss against Ridgewater College in the Region 13B Tournament, held at Anoka Ramsey Community College.
Despite entering the tournament as the top seed and conference champions, the Legends were defeated in straight sets (0-3), ending their bid for a national tournament appearance.
Sophomore outside hitter Jaci Domeier led the offensive effort with 9 kills, while freshman Emma Madison matched her with 9 kills and an impressive zero errors. Sophomore middle blocker Ashlyn Kahler stood out defensively and was named to the Region 13B All-Tournament Team for her performance.
The Legends, ranked #14 nationally, fell to the fourth seed and missed the final region bid, which went to SCTCC. Head Coach Jason Smith reflected on the season with pride:
"This season was a huge success. We won our conference title, finished the season ranked #14 in the country, and created a culture that these Legends can be proud of. Obviously, being put out in the first round stings a bit, but this program has a lot to look forward to and even more to be excited about. That starts with me and recruiting strong players to help us return to and surpass what we accomplished this season."
With a strong foundation and a clear vision for growth, the Legends are already setting their sights on a deeper tournament run in 2026.
